Eat Street is losing respected restaurant Black Sheep Coal Fired Pizza, which is closing at the end of November.

A sign on the door of the restaurant at 2550 Nicollet Ave. confirms the Nov. 30 closure, which was first reported by Racket.

“We have had ten wonderful years here and our time is up!” the sign reads. “We are going to focus our limited and aging attention on our original North Loop location and our grandchildren!
“Thank you for these 10 years and we hope you all can stop in to the North Loop and see many familiar faces!”

Black Sheep’s original North Loop location, which was first opened by owners Jordan Smith and Colleen Doran in 2008, will remain open. At its height, Black Sheep also had a restaurant in downtown St. Paul, but it closed in 2022.

Smith told Racket that he is sad to be closing the Eat Street location, but said it’s been a “pretty good run” and that with its lease ending, it was the right time to close up.
