At 16, Joey left his widowed mother, Flora, to chase his dream of becoming a doctor, leaving behind only a farewell note. He struggled in the city but found hope when an elderly man, Mr. Clark, offered him a scholarship. Focused on his goal, Joey didn’t contact Flora, promising himself he would once he had achieved success.
Thirteen years later, Joey returned home, only to find the house abandoned. In the ashes of the fireplace, he discovered a half-burnt letter from his mother, pleading for his return. Overcome with regret, he searched for her and learned from a neighbor that Flora had been hospitalized.
Rushing to her side, Joey broke down in tears, apologizing for his absence. Flora, overjoyed, embraced him, cherishing their reunion. Joey vowed to never leave her again, offering her a new home and a fresh start.
