Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States in January. His wife, Melania Trump, will be by his side, though it’s unclear as yet whether she will live full-time with her husband at the White House. Over the course of the last year, rumors have been abound that the couple are facing marital challenges, with Melania reportedly even changing their prenup.
Melania has kept herself out of the spotlight since she and Donald left the White House following the 2020 election. The former and future First Lady has focused largely on supporting her son, Barron, in finishing high school. Barron has enrolled at New York University, meaning Melania will spend much time in New York instead of Washington.
These days the 54-year-old has left her modeling career in the past, but it appears that some of her old work has become news again, this time in Russia. On primetime TV, Russian media reportedly last week showed Melania posing – while not wearing any clothes.
Before Donald Trump’s election victory, he and his wife Melania endured a very challenging time. In January, Melania’s mother passed away, and this year a lot of focus has been placed on the fact that Donald has been in and out of court, perhaps most notably regarding the hush money trial involving porn star Stormy Daniels.
Trump’s also been dealing with election interference cases leveled against him, and in the middle of it all, Melania reportedly tried her best to secure her and her son, Barron Trump’s future.
Melania Trump renegotiated prenup agreement with her husband
According to Page Six, Melania spent a big chunk of 2023 renegotiating the terms of her prenuptial agreement with Donald. A source said her new “postnup” is in place. The news outlet reported that Melania wanted the new deal because she was worried about how much money would be left for her and Barron after legal bills, damages, and possible fines were paid.
“This agreement was necessary because of the current legal battles.[Donald] has suffered,” a source told Page Six, adding that the renegotiated prenup will “provide a more solid future” for Melania and Barron if she and Donald end up separating.
“It’s not that she threatened to leave him. It’s definitely the underlying idea.”
A person familiar with the renegotiated prenup told Page Six that Melania wanted the deal to provide her with money and property. It included cash, where there is a “specific amount at minimum that Barron is supposed to obtain.”
Moreover, another source told the news outlet: “This is at least the third time Melania has renegotiated the terms of her martial agreement.”
Reports have suggested that Donald Trump and his wife’s marriage is far from stable. Previously, Melania reportedly said she never wanted to return to the White House because she thought of it as her least favorite place. But at one point or another, things changed.
Melania Trump stated it would be a “privilege” to be First Lady again
In an interview with Fox News in May 2023, Melania said she looked forward to working alongside her husband again to restore “hope for the future” and “leading America with love and strength” for a second presidential term. Moreover, Melania explained that serving as First Lady again would be a “privilege.”
“My husband achieved tremendous success in his first administration, and he can lead us toward greatness and prosperity once again,” she told Fox News. “He has my support, and we look forward to restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength.”
Children have always been one of Melania Trump’s big passions. In 2023, she said that if Donald were to be re-elected as US President, she would “prioritize the well-being and development of children as I have always done.”
“My focus would continue to be creating a safe and nurturing space for children to learn, grow, and thrive,” she said. “If additional problems arise, I will take the time to study them and understand their root causes.”
Melania added: “My goal would be to ensure that every child has the support and resources they need to reach their full potential.”
Melania Trump ‘unlikely’ to live full-time at the White Hhouse
Following last week’s election victory, it’s now set in stone that Melania will return to the White House with her husband. However, People Magazine sources have claimed it’s ‘unlikely’ that she will live there full-time.
“If Melania becomes first lady again, of course people expect her to move into the White House and perform appropriate duties,” a source close to the Trump family said, adding that Melania isn’t keen on relocating to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
“She will have her private living apartment there, and she has her home in New York and her home at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach. She will spend time in all of these places,” the source added.
Mary Jordan, author of The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump, told ABC: “She has told people, ‘Look, I’m not the one elected.’ So if she wants to go down to Mar-a-Lago and hang out by herself for two weeks, do that. But she is going to be in the White House. She loves a lot of the pomp and circumstance.”
It’s no secret that Melania remained out of the spotlight during her husband’s most recent presidential campaign. On Election Tuesday, however, she was at her husband’s side, both when they both went to vote and later that night, as Donald claimed the victory.
“We will safeguard the heart of our republic”
Not long after, she took to her social media channels and offered a message of unity. On X, she stated that she expected Americans to rise “above ideology.”
“The majority of Americans have entrusted us with this important responsibility,” Melania wrote. “We will safeguard the heart of our republic – freedom. I anticipate the citizens of our nation rejoining in commitment to each other and rising above ideology for the sake of individual liberty, economic prosperity, and security.”
She continued: “American energy, skill, and initiative will bring together our best minds to propel our nation forward forevermore.”
It’s safe to say that few would have tipped Melania Trump as a future First Lady of the United States while she was growing up. By all accounts she was interested in fashion at an early age, and when she was 16, while leaving a fashion show at the Festival Hall in her hometown of Sevnica, she was spotted by fashion photographer Stane Jerko.
At this point — 1987 — photographers didn’t really have the opportunity to find new faces for their work through the Internet. Instead, they sometimes chanced upon someone in real life.
“By the staircase at the entrance, I saw this girl,’ Jerko recalled. “She was tall, slim, with long hair. I told her who I was, what I did, and why I would photograph her.”
Melania Trump – modeling career before meeting Donald Trump
Melania had aimed to study to become an architect, but this was a big opportunity. Jerko, meanwhile, knew the girl had something special. Although she went to study at the age of 18, she signed up with a modeling agency in Milan. She spent a couple of years doing modeling work in Milan and Paris, and was successful in her endeavor.
The amibitious Melania wanted to advance in her career, and she eventually came into contact with wealthy Italian businessman Paolo Zampolli, who set her up with a modeling contract and a work visa to travel to the US.
In 1996, Melania left for New York City. There, she lived in a shared apartment at Gramercy Park. Since she was 26 years old – much older than the average aspiring model at the time – Melania gambled and put everything on the line.
In the era of supermodels like Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford, she had to do something extra. Melania decided to appear without any clothes in the French men’s magazine Max. Ultimately, being 26 years “old” actually was an advantage for her. Due to a law that prohibited younger models from promoting tobacco, Melania’s face was soon all over Times Square in a commercial for a cigarette company.
In 1998, she met Donald Trump, but Melania continued to do modeling work for quite some time after. Unfortunately, some of what people might brand as “provocative” pictures have now become news again — in Russia, of all places.
Melania Trump’s nude pictures broadcasted on Russian television
As Newsweek and several other news outlets reported on the show 60 Minutes, Russian television presenters Yevgeny Popov and Olga Skabeyeva took to the air to discuss Donald Trump’s presidential election win and what is to come. In the background, several photos from Melania Trump’s modeling career were shown on a big screen, including nude photographs from a GQ shoot she did in 2000.
“Now that Melania Trump’s husband has finally won, she is getting ready to come back to the White House for a second time. Here is how Melania looked in the year 2000. This is the cover of the magazine GQ,” Popov said, per Newsweek.
“The future first lady lies on top of furs in a negligee. Inside the magazine, Melania’s sexy photos near a private plane and aboard the plane. In one of the shots, the model is wearing only her underwear, lying on a blue carpet with the U.S. seal, as though the editors of the men’s magazine knew something in advance about the future of their model.”
As per Newsweek, Julia Davis, founder of the Russia Media Monitor watchdog group, posted a video of the Russian broadcast.
“Meanwhile in Russia: this is how the most watched state TV channel in the country welcomed Melania Trump’s upcoming return to the White House. Olga Skabeeva is trying not to laugh. This was probably her idea,” Davis said.
“We should honor our bodies”
Melania has spoken about her modeling career many times in the past. Regarding her decision to take nude pictures, she has previously defended it by stating that we should all be proud of our bodies.
“Why do I stand proudly behind my nude modeling work?” Melania said in September in a video posted on her social media. “The more pressing question is, why has the media chosen to scrutinize my celebration of the human form in a fashion photo shoot? Are we no longer able to appreciate the beauty of the human body?”
“We should honor our bodies and embrace the timeless tradition of using art as a powerful means of self-expression.”
